If you can do this, than the rest is getting a good publisher and luck. Even Stephen King had to go through a ton of rejection before he sold Carrie.Before that, he went through even more trying to sell his first piece to a magazine.

I look at the cover, then read the back and the little part they give you in the front. Its usually something that will stand out in the book for the readers. Then I do buy it. and i tried some of my sisters on today when she and my sister were out to dinner
and i LOVED it..even though it looked like nothing happened, my skin tone was much more evened out. I just wore foundation and mascara, btw..Anyway I'm going to like go to the mall with my friends sometime, and just get it there without her knowing and just wear makuep at school and take it off when i get home. I know its drastic, and i shouldn't be disobeying her, but i'm 14 for goodness sakes, i know 12 year olds that wear makeupDo they sell bare minerals makeup at the mall?
Look up your mall on the internet and see if they have a Bare Escentuals store...that is the store that sells ';Bare Minerals.'; Also, like others mentioned, if your town has a sephora, they will carry it...or you can try ordering it off the internet...however, its sometimes difficult to order foundation if you don't know your color!
My local Target also sells a few of the Bare Escentuals kits, such as the get started kit for face and eyes. So that's another option.

I live in San Francisco and they have 3 stores that I know of that is the actual brand's store. They also sell BM at ULTA and Sephora and some indie makeup stores. I heard though that some people are having allergies after a couple of days/weeks of using it because it has Bismuth Oxychloride but if it works, then it works. Good luck.
P.S. You will also need a good quality (expensive for me but maybe not for you) brush.

You really need to sit down with someone and ask lots of questions to be sure it is best for you. Like any company you will hear good and bad but like an interview you need to figure out if it is a fit for your life. A show is for people to try the products most people try them love them and buy them. you get in front or 2 - 6 people at one time so you make more money doing show in less time. well u get what u pay for and most airbrush systems use silicone in their makeup, which is TERRIBLE for ur skin!! Its like putting a plastic over ur face and ur pores can't breathe...making u break out...i did tons of research on airbrush makeup when i first got mine...i started using Dinair because i found out that they were the originators in airbrush makeup and that all their makeup is water based so its not bad for ur skin. anywho, if u google Dinair you'll find their site...hope i helped...=)

Why not make a little money and get a huge discount on it at the same time.

A few inside things. 50% of reps have huge back ordered items. So back ordered they can't get the items to their customers. Avon's sales are so down they outsourced their entire call center overseas where there sales are higher. If you need to talk to someone in customer service you will be on hold for hours.
I am not down on it. I have a direct sales business myself. I have access to more product lines, but I don't have the inexpensive prices like Avon.
One last thing - I do have a Mark purse that I just love. I have had it for several years.

You can go to Macy's and buy, for example...Lancome products that will cost you an arm and a leg OR you can buy the EXACT same products at Walmart, Walgreens or any other discount store for much less. Lancome is the exact same product as L'Oreal. The names of the shades of each product are usually changed, but both ';brands'; are actually Lancome. There are actually only 3 major cosmetics companies that merchandise ALL of the well-known brands. It's done that way so that they can diversify their product placement options. It's very clever and it works. The people who faithfully buy their products are high end departments stores would never be caught dead shopping at Walgreens so they're happy paying the price they do because it's about status. The companies know this and they cash in. So, seriously, if you want a decent product, you can buy L'Oreal and get the same products someone else pays 4 times more for at Macy's.Does claire's sell good teen makeup, or stick to macy's ???

Stick to quality makeup for a teen. Teens skin is very sensitive from hormones and everything else they go through. I would stick to a department store and stick to makeup that promotes healthy skin. Like Clinique. MAC is great too, but for more mature skin in my opinion. Make sure that she is cleansing skin daily too, even before she applies makeup so that she is not clogging pores.
Does Claire's even sell makeup? If it does - you would probably only find makeup that is for pre-teens. As in brightly colored eye shadows and sparkly lip gloss.
For a more mature look, I would think that Claire's would not be the right option. I know that Macy's has wonderful makeup. If you bring your cousin in, they will find a great look for her and help you choose which things to purchase. This can get very pricey.

I just got my first order from MAC in the mail today (cause there isnt a MAC counter/store in my state) and was amazed at how small everything was! Everything was at least 1 gram smaller than my drugstore products, yet they are way more expensive. %26amp; to be honest, the same quality (in my opinon)....Why is MAC makeup sold in smaller quantities?
MAC uses higher grade ingredients than drugstore, and most of their products (not all - there are many great drugstore things out there) are of higher quality meaning more pigments and staying power. However, some of what you're paying is just for the name. I think some of their prices are just ridiculous - especially their single eyeshadows ($15? way too much - I'd get NYX) and brushes, but if I did have money to waste I would definitely use it on MAC and other department store makeup.Why is MAC makeup sold in smaller quantities?
Mac has good eyeliner and shadow, in my opinion, but there's nothing special about their coverup. In fact, i'd say their coverup is one of the worsts. It's like smearing crisco on your face... disgusting. We have tons of mac counters here so, having sampled all their products on quite a few occassions I can safely say it's not that exciting. They do not, however, test on animals which is always an up you should look for when buying makeup. Many store brands probably do. In this sense, I can support them. As far as their popularity, I think it's just because it's so ';shi shi'; that it gets away with the quantities and prices. I'm not saying that they don't use quality ingredients, and they do send all their cosmeticians to a year of Mac school, however it doesn't make their products any better, perhaps just the mac counter experience.
So to answer your question why is it sold in smaller quantities? Because people still buy it for lots of money in that quantity, so they can. It's a fad. Aside their eye makeup i'd suggest finding another animal-friendly store makeup or worthwhile concealer (like bare minerals) instead.

I agree, it does look small, but most of their stuff lasts me a pretty long time. I don't like their mascaras or foundations, I think drugstore is better for that. Their Mineralize Skin Finish Natural is love though! I love their lipsticks and lipglasses too. Oh, and look out this summer if they come out with a ';Tendertone Collection.'; They are the best! They are discontinued, but have come out the last two summers.

I think some of their prices are just ridiculous - especially their single eyeshadows ($15? way too much - I'd get NYX) and brushes, but if I did have money to waste I would definitely use it on MAC and other department store makeup.Why is MAC makeup sold in smaller quantities?
Mac has good eyeliner and shadow, in my opinion, but there's nothing special about their coverup. In fact, i'd say their coverup is one of the worsts. It's like smearing crisco on your face... disgusting. We have tons of mac counters here so, having sampled all their products on quite a few occassions I can safely say it's not that exciting. They do not, however, test on animals which is always an up you should look for when buying makeup. Many store brands probably do. In this sense, I can support them. As far as their popularity, I think it's just because it's so ';shi shi'; that it gets away with the quantities and prices. I'm not saying that they don't use quality ingredients, and they do send all their cosmeticians to a year of Mac school, however it doesn't make their products any better, perhaps just the mac counter experience.
So to answer your question why is it sold in smaller quantities? Because people still buy it for lots of money in that quantity, so they can. It's a fad. Aside their eye makeup i'd suggest finding another animal-friendly store makeup or worthwhile concealer (like bare minerals) instead.

I agree, it does look small, but most of their stuff lasts me a pretty long time. I don't like their mascaras or foundations, I think drugstore is better for that. Their Mineralize Skin Finish Natural is love though! I love their lipsticks and lipglasses too. Oh, and look out this summer if they come out with a ';Tendertone Collection.'; They are the best! They are discontinued, but have come out the last two summers.
Mac is highend makeup and the Quailty of it is astanding unlike drugstore makeup MAC makeup is Normal sized to me See you were going in with Big Big Hopes but done worry Mac wont let you know

I buy Avon products and the representative seemed to think I could get some part time work with Avon as a sales representative. I am not sure...I mean, I am told I am passable and that 'women buy products from women' so won't think I have any other agenda than just being an Avon girl. Most jobs oppose employing transgendered folk for work, and while i understand it to some degree, I should also have the right to be employed without rules on how I dress being applied.Is it possible Avon would employ t-girls / transvestites to sell their makeup products for them?

Then you have the option to purchase inventory based on what you want from you business. Do not let anyone tell you it is required. You are an independent contractor buying directly form the wholesaler so you buy for $1.00 and sell for $2.00 making you money from the customer. You do not wait to get paid from the company you control that by collecting from the customer if you choice no inventory then you want to collect 50% to all the money up front ( remember you buy for half prose the balance is your profit) Okay as far as not getting anyone to buy from you I can't image that happening especially since I started strictly for personal use with no intention of selling it and found it very easy to sell but lets say no one does then you paid $100 for over $300 in full size product you can keep for yourself or give as gifts. I love thee philosophy of try before you buy and building relationships with your customers not a one time sale. I came from a financial background so I researched thee company before I even considered it. What I found amazed me not only is the business plan taught at major universities around the a would but Mary Kay also has a charitable foundation to support research for cancers that affect women and ending domestic violence. Like I said I was only do it for personal use in the begging but after getting pregnant I was able to quit my job and stay home with my children.

You can not go directly to the Co and start you have to be ';recuited'; by someone that is all ready selling. If ya need any other help I am sure I can get some info ffrom my Mom.
I'm glad you are researching it first- you can always speak with a local Mary Kay representative (but I warn you, and I'm not saying this to be mean- they aren't necessarily going to give you the whole deal)
There are up-front costs (starter kits, samples, catalogs, etc.)...as for payment, you would earn a percentage of your sales and you get a nice discount on the product.

They have a compact foundation powder but not a loose/shaker-top foundation powder. It can be applied with a sponge or can be brushed on. Go this route if you are intent on Clarins products - they use top-notch ingredients and are known for being environmentally responsible.

The regular dept. store stuff that I like is Maybelline Mineral Power and Physician's Formula Talc-Free (Under $10). The Revlon stuff I wasn't particularly impressed with, especially when the concealer was a teeeeeny tiny little pot and it didn't cover jack and it cost like $10.

I was a little confused myself when trying to figure out which mineral makeup to try. I even tried to make my own mineral makeup foundation, that didn't go so well :) I would say to just try a few and see which one works best for you. I really like the one by maybelline and bare minerals.

I swear by ebay. Always check your seller and what people say about them That's Rule#1. Rule#2 is to find out if the brand is the true thing and usually by following Rule #1 other buyers will tell you. Rule #3 is find out how much is will cost to send it to you. You may buy it for nearly next to nothing but the delivery charges can sometimes by awesome - sometimes to the point that it's cheaper to just go buy it at the nearest store! ebay is (by law) responsible for any seller (and that includes buyers - try not buying something when you are the highest bidder) and they must be exactly what they say they are. Probably managed to get container loads of items and they just want to sell them to us because we want them. I've bought heaps of stuff from ebay and I would recommend them to anyone - especially because other buyers are allowed to tell you how they feel about the service, time and price.Is the makeup brands sold on Ebay is the same as if you went to a department store. Or, you can get a loose mineral $5 foundation that will cover or any kind and buy a hydrator for your skin to keep it on all day until washed off. I know that the new Organic coverage that's about $15 works really well and you can buy that at any drug store. I use a $5 foundation and the Olay $18 hydrator and it stays on all day. I prefer to use mac make up brushes because they're made from different fibres and some brushes can cause allergic reactions etc but i've never had this happen with macs.

Avon or Mary Kay??? Which has better makeup, more popular, easiest to sell?
I'm a stay at home mother and I have exhausted my self mentally trying to figure something to do to make some extra spending cash. I have gone back and forth on Mary Kay and Avon and still am not sure. I love make up like the eyeliners and eye shadows not so much the face stuff, so which is better in quality. Personally I prefer Mary Kay. I have used both but I think that Avon is a ';cheap'; version. I also think it depends how you want to work with Mary Kay you throw parties and things to earn money Avon you just give people books to order from. If you are into the whole trowing parties then Mary Kay is the best route but if you don't have time for that then you can also make money with Avon.....This may sound bad but think about how much money the people you know have are they well off or usually short on cash you need to think about that too....That's where you start family and fiends and blossom from there....Hope this helps on your decision.Avon or Mary Kay??? I believe that avon is better. not just because i sell it my self. but because it is cheaper so more people will by it. and i believe its better richer quality. that is why i picked it. also marykay has alot of perfumes in their products. so people with sensitive skin, ae my self and mother, cannot use it as freely as others. i also feel that marykay smelled like that 'old lady' musky smell that people dread. i went to a mk meeting, and i prefered the benefits from avon better. you can get so many bonuses, win free laptops, even get discounts on phone services. also with avon you only have to pay a start up fee of 10 dollars. with marykay you have to buy a whole system for almost 200 dollars. i also know this because my friend sells mary kay. and buys avon from me. you can have parties with avon as well. how much money you want to invest in it is up to you!
with avon you can also bring in a younger crowd with the mark line all the way up through your grandmothers crowd. let me know if you are really interested in this, i can get you more info, and even sign you up!

(i know alot of ppl that also do well selling pampered chef, if you like to cook)
